Butter -a review
Butter - Erin Lange
Blurb ' I can't take another year in this fat suit, but I can end this year with a bang. If you can stomach it, you're invited to watch.... As I eat myself to death'
The premise of this book intrigued me, a teenage boy battling obesity starts an online blog to document his plans to eat himself to death and the attention garnered from this ends up temporarily giving him a taste of the live he's always wanted.
If you've ever been bullied this is a must read, It seems extreme but on some level any young person who has ever been down on themselves or have others put them down will relate to butter.
It delves into popularity and peer pressure and the lengths people will go to fit in and it will make you think twice about how you've treated anyone who's different.
As a speed reader I know it doesn't say much but I read this book in a few hours. The story pulled me in and held my interest throughout. Bizarre yet utterly relatable
